I have 6 of the older stack-on toolbox 4 drawer roll around cabinets, the ones the toolbox sits on. (Like the home centers used to sell) They need repainting. How do I remove the drawers. I know there is a tab punched on the slide but I can't get to it. No holes in the drawer, and the cabinet is double walled. I get no help from their web site. The new ones have a little square hole that you insert a punch in to hold the tab back. THANKS for any help!!

On many kinds of toolboxes, you need a special release tool that slides in between the drawer and the runner. You can make one out of a piece of steel Band-It. Take about a 4 to 6" piece if 1/2 " wide. Carefully grind it down to about 3/8"wide. put a small 45 degree bend in one end about 3/8" from the end. With the drawer partially closed, insert your tool between the runner and the drawer with the bend facing the runner. As you pull the drawer out, your tool should hold the tab on the drawer down and let you pull that side out.

On my older Stack Ons there is a bent metal tab acessable thru a hole in the slide rail.It can be bent slightly in with a screwdriver or similar tool to release drawer, then pried out again slightly when drawer is replaced and opened partway.

Today's Featured Article - Product Review: Black Tire Paint - by Staff. I have been fortunate in that two of my tractors have had rear tires that were in great shape when I bought the tractor. My model "H" even had the old style fronts with plenty of tread. My "L" fronts were mismatched Sears Guardsman snow tires, which I promptly tossed. Well, although these tires were in good shape as far as tread was concerned, they looked real sad. All were flat, but new tubes fixed that. In addition to years and years of scuffing and fading, they had paint splattered on ... [Read Article]
